Supply Chain Consultant / Analyst - Intern
Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our firm’s NYC team and help us take on exciting new projects. Fascination with the supply chain/logistics is a plus while a hard-working, positive and eager-to-learn mentality is a must. This role will be a hybrid of in person and remote work and will be a paid internship. The internship will be full time for the summer with the potential for extension.

Typical Job Responsibilities
This internship position will be expected to provide analytical support to their project team throughout client projects. Typical responsibilities include;
Cleansing raw data sets from client ERP systems (sales, freight, inventory, transactions, etc.).
Analyzing, synthesizing, finding patterns and drawing conclusions from the data sets to develop summaries, business profiles and find actionable insights.
Using data visualization tools to transform data sets into presentable visuals.
Developing and improving standard data analytics processes and procedures.
Assisting in the development of distribution network models to evaluate cost, service and flexibility by determining the optimal number and location of warehouses, inventory levels and distribution strategies.
Building quantitative tables and indexes that support our internal tools.
Conducting research on market trends within the supply chain industry.
Participating in both internal meetings and client meetings.
Assisting in building client presentations and reports.
Other responsibilities may include;
Assisting in the development of supply chain and operations models.
Mapping current-state supply chain or warehouse processes, creating improved processes, implementing the changes and quantifying savings.
Conducting Supply Chain Best Practice Audits.
Assisting in creating the operating design of plants and distribution centers, including the physical layout, workflows/SOPs, volumes, headcount, material handling equipment requirements, IT systems, costs and plan to implement the design.
The Ideal Candidate
Is attending a top university pursuing a degree in a technical discipline.
Has an interest in the supply chain/logistics and consulting industries and a knack for data.
Has experience with analytical toolsets like SQL, Excel and R.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or Looker.
Exposure/familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience with AutoCAD or other design suites is a plus.
Has impressive communication skills and is comfortable presenting to high-ranking members of the client team about logical, unbiased, analytical findings and recommendations.
Has a positive, can-do attitude, the ability to work independently and without direction and is eager to learn new things and be exposed to different industries.
Feels at home both in distribution centers, operations and corporate offices.
